The short version: what you type into a calculator stays in your browser. We never send it to a server, we do not run advertising or analytics trackers, and we do not build a profile of you.
Most privacy policies are vague because the site behind them collects a lot. Ours can be specific because CalculatorAxis collects almost nothing. This page explains exactly what happens to your data, in plain language.
Every calculator on this site does its maths in your browser using JavaScript. Your salary, your weight, your loan balance, your exam marks: none of it is transmitted to us, logged, or stored on a server. There is no network request behind the Calculate button because there is nothing to send.
You can verify this yourself. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any calculator. You will see the page load, and then nothing further as you type and calculate.
Calculator inputs are processed entirely in your browser
No calculator values are sent to CalculatorAxis servers
Nothing you enter is saved between visits on the web app
Closing the tab discards everything you entered
Analytics and advertising
CalculatorAxis runs no third-party analytics and no advertising scripts. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no advertising network, no session recording, and no cross-site tracking code on any page of this site.
If that changes, we will update this page before the change goes live and describe what is collected and why. We will not quietly add trackers and leave this page as it is.
Information we do receive
Like any website, our hosting provider processes the technical information your browser sends in order to deliver the page: your IP address, the page requested, your browser and operating system, and the time of the request. This is standard web server behaviour and is used to serve pages, keep the service available, and investigate faults or abuse.
We do not combine this technical data with anything else to identify you personally, and we do not sell or share it for marketing.
When you contact us
The contact form opens your own email application with a pre-filled message. Nothing is submitted through this website. When you send that email, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write, at contact@calculatoraxis.com.
We use that only to reply and to fix whatever you reported. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not pass your message to anyone else.
Cookies and browser storage
CalculatorAxis sets exactly one cookie, and only for administrators signing in to the private dashboard. It is an HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict session cookie that expires after eight hours. Ordinary visitors browsing calculators are never issued a cookie.
We do not use cookie banners because we do not set the kind of cookies that require consent. The full detail is on our Cookie Policy page.
Accounts and the mobile app
User accounts are not currently enabled on the website. The sign-in screens are visible but do not create accounts or store credentials.
The CalculatorAxis mobile app stores your calculation history, favourites and theme preference on your own device using the phone's local storage. That data stays on your device, is not uploaded to us, and is removed when you clear the app's data or uninstall it.
Children
CalculatorAxis is a general-purpose reference tool used widely by students. Because we do not collect personal information from visitors, we do not knowingly hold data about children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Privacy laws such as the UK and EU GDPR give you rights to access, correct, and delete personal data held about you, and to object to its processing. Those rights are easy for us to honour because the only personal data we hold is any email correspondence you have chosen to start.
To ask what we hold, or to have an email thread deleted, write to contact@calculatoraxis.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. Material changes, such as introducing analytics or accounts that store personal data, will be described here before they take effect rather than after.
