CalculatorAxis is a free collection of 591 calculators and unit converters across 12 categories. Every one of them shows the formula it used and a worked example, so you can check the answer instead of just trusting it.
Most calculator sites give you a number and leave you to wonder how it got there. We think the formula and a worked example are the useful part, so they are on every page.
Search for almost any calculation and you will land on a page buried in adverts, asking you to accept trackers, that finally produces a number with no explanation attached. You cannot tell whether it applied the right formula, what it assumed, or whether it is out of date.
That is a bad way to make a decision about a mortgage, a dosage, a material order, or a university application. CalculatorAxis exists to do the opposite: give the answer immediately, then show exactly how it was produced.
What is on the site

How every calculator page is built
The layout is deliberately the same everywhere so you do not have to relearn the page each time. The calculator sits at the top, the result appears immediately, and beneath it you get the formula, a step-by-step explanation, a worked example with real numbers, answers to common questions, and links to related tools.
Nothing is hidden behind a button, an email address, or a sign-up.

Your numbers stay on your device
Every calculation runs in your browser. Your salary, your weight, your loan balance and your exam marks are never sent to us, because there is no request to send them in. You can confirm that in your browser's network inspector.
We also run no advertising scripts and no third-party analytics. There is no tracking pixel, no session recording, and no cookie banner, because there are no cookies to consent to unless you are an administrator signing in.
How we handle accuracy
Formulas are implemented from published sources and covered by automated tests that run on every change, including the awkward cases: zero credits, empty inputs, and the top and bottom of each scale.
Where an exact figure genuinely cannot be reproduced outside the awarding body, such as an official ATAR or an equated SAT score, the page says so instead of implying a precision it does not have. We would rather tell you a number is an estimate than let you find out later.
Free, and no account needed
There is no paywall, no usage limit, no registration, and no email capture. The site is free to use as often as you like, on any device, and the mobile app works fully offline because the maths runs locally.
Tell us when we get it wrong
If a result looks wrong, an explanation is unclear, or a threshold has changed for this year, we want to hear about it. Email contact@calculatoraxis.com with the page and the numbers you used. Formula corrections go to the front of the queue.
